TV presenter Fiona Phillips broke down in tears as she shared the “frightening and heartbreaking” reality of living with Alzheimer’s

Fiona Phillips says Alzheimer’s is “frightening and confusing” as it slowly erodes the world she once knew. The former ITV host was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2022 but went public a year later to raise awareness.

Her parents also died from the illness, making her diagnosis feel like a painful loop she couldn’t escape. Now, she’s turning personal heartbreak into purpose with a new memoir she hopes will help others cope.

At first, Fiona believed the symptoms were menopause-related—just anxiety and lingering brain fog. But deeper medical tests revealed the truth, forcing her to confront a terrifying new chapter in life.

Her first book, Before I Forget, chronicled the pain of watching her parents slowly fade away. Now Remember When tells the story of her own journey, navigating the fog from the inside out.

Co-written with husband Martin Frizell and close friend Alison Phillips, it’s raw and painfully honest. Fiona says it shows how scary life becomes, yet also how it can remain beautiful in small, unexpected ways.
