The White family had lived in the Omaha area for over a decade and were well-known in the community.Linda White, a dental hygienist, was described by co-workers as “dedicated and compassionate.”
Thomas White was a construction foreman and had been employed by a local contracting firm for several years.Police are now awaiting the results of autopsies to confirm the exact cause of death for each family member.
Authorities have not released any information regarding possible financial difficulties or other stressors that could have contributed to the apparent murder-suicide.
“We’re still in the very early stages of this investigation,” Chief Thompson said. “It’s too soon to draw any conclusions.”
Meanwhile, members of the Omaha community have started a memorial fund to cover funeral expenses for the family and to provide support for grieving classmates and friends.
The fund had already raised over $10,000 within hours of being established, according to organizers. A spokesperson for the family said they are “overwhelmed” by the outpouring of love and support from the community.
