Investigators are now piecing together the final hours leading up to the deaths, reviewing phone records, emails, and other communications.
According to a neighbor who spoke to local reporters, the family had seemed “perfectly fine” the day before the shootings.
“They were out in the yard, grilling and celebrating,” said neighbor Mike Darnell. “Nothing seemed off at all.”
Friends of Mark White expressed disbelief and sorrow, describing him as a “bright, funny, and kind-hearted young man” who was excited to attend college in the fall.
“He had just been accepted to the University of Nebraska,” said classmate Emily Ruiz. “This is just so tragic.” Omaha West High School announced plans to hold a candlelight vigil in honor of Mark and his family later this week.
