The teacher reportedly provided photographs and medical records to support her claim, showing evidence of a pre-existing condition that would have prevented her from engaging in the alleged acts.
Prosecutors, however, maintain that the student’s account is credible and that there is sufficient evidence to move forward with the case.
“The victim’s testimony is consistent, and additional witnesses have corroborated aspects of his story,” said the lead prosecutor.
Court documents also reveal that text messages between the teacher and student have been submitted as evidence, allegedly indicating a personal relationship beyond the classroom.
The teacher’s legal team insists that the messages have been taken out of context and do not suggest any illicit behavior. “The communication was strictly professional, with no inappropriate intent,” the defense attorney argued in court.
