Now 18, the young woman is reported to be the mother of two children, both of whom were also living in the home at the time of the investigation.
This situation had reportedly continued for several years, with the parents later stating that all of the children staying in the home were biologically theirs. In a small relief, authorities noted that the children appeared to be in stable health,
and the condition of the home was found to be generally adequate.
The neighbor who reported the situation said she grew concerned after observing Kaplan with the girls,
and felt that authorities took longer than expected to respond.
