All three accused were found guilty of kidnapping and trafficking.
As the verdict was read, emotions filled the courtroom. Some clapped, others cried, and many stood in stunned silence.
Outside, protesters chanted, “We want Joshlin back!” Her grandmother, Amanda Daniels-Smith, pleaded for answers.
“I just want my grandchild,” she told reporters. “She [Kelly] must tell me where Joshlin is.” Joshlin’s paternal grandmother,
Louretta Yon, also spoke out. “I hope they get life sentences, but that won’t bring her back.”
Yon said Kelly refused to testify because she knew too much. “She said her mother’s instinct told her Joshlin was still alive.”
