James Comey, the former FBI Director fired by Donald Trump in 2017, is facing intense scrutiny after sharing and then deleting a cryptic photo of seashells arranged to spell out the numbers “8647” on social media.
The seemingly innocuous image has since sparked a federal investigation, with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Secret Service now involved.
According to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the post is being treated as a potential threat to President Donald Trump.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Noem said, “Today, federal agents from @SecretService interviewed
disgraced former FBI Director Comey regarding a social media post calling for the assassination of President Trump.”
