Now, she’s facing a long road to recovery, including surgery and physical therapy.
“My last high school prom got ruined. My neck will be broken on my graduation.
My plans to join the military are crushed,” she says. “All in all, it’s been pretty depressing, but I know I will be okay.”
Since coming home, Brown has been leaning on her friends for support.
But it’s Etienne who has been by her side through every painful step.
“He’s put so much effort into supporting me and just being here during one of the hardest points in my life,” Brown says. “He’s very strong.”
