“That part really sticks with me,” Brown says. “I keep thinking about
what it must’ve felt like for him in that moment — to see me not moving, not answering, looking like I might be dead.”
Etienne found the strength to carry her out of the car through the window.
A man who had been riding a bicycle nearby also ran over to help.
“If the roles had been reversed, I don’t know if I would’ve had the strength to do what he did,” Brown admits. “I probably would’ve just frozen.”
