Jody recalls being upset as she watched the incident play out on television. “Daddy gave him the easy way out, but Jeff would have probably spent the rest of his life in prison,” he claimed.
“I believe that my dad represents justice to many who have been dissatisfied with the American legal system.
“My dad did what everyone says they would do, but very few people actually did it. In addition, he avoided going to jail,” he said.
Nevertheless, I cannot and will not tolerate his actions. I can see why he took the actions he did. However, a parent’s presence to support their child is more crucial than placing them in danger of legal action.
Gary was given a sentence of seven years with a suspended sentence, five years of probation, and 300 hours of community service after entering a no contest plea to manslaughter after being charged with second-degree murder. He didn’t spend any time behind bars.
