The Pulitzer Prize winner’s final remarks as he leaves The Washington Post unexpectedly after slamming Bezos, Jeff
Jeff Bezos’s reorganization of the Washington Post’s opinion department has resulted in the latest departure of a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist.
On Thursday, 71-year-old Eugene Robinson declared his resignation from the venerable daily due to the Amazon founder’s intention to limit the Opinion page to advocating for “personal liberties and free markets.”
According to the New York Times, he told his colleagues via email that the redesign of the page “spurred my decision that it’s time for my next chapter.”
“I hope the paper and all of you have the best possible outcomes.” Robinson penned. He promised, “I won’t be a stranger and I’ll be reading your unmatched work every day.”
