Doctors refused to assist a couple who noticed their feet after walking on the beach.

The Carters are now recovering at home but say they are still dealing with lingering discomfort and scarring from the infection.

“I can’t believe how something as simple as a walk on the beach turned into this nightmare,” John said. “We just want to warn others to be cautious.”

Emily added that they felt frustrated by the initial misdiagnosis and the time lost before receiving proper treatment.

“It’s scary to think that if we hadn’t gone for a second opinion, the infection could have spread or gotten worse,” she said.

Medical experts advise beachgoers to always wear protective footwear, especially in areas with known contamination risks, and to seek immediate medical attention for any unusual symptoms after being outdoors.
