Within two days, their symptoms escalated, with large, blistering sores forming on their feet and the itching intensifying to an almost unbearable degree.
Desperate for answers, the couple decided to seek a second opinion at a different medical facility,
where doctors immediately recognized the telltale signs of a parasitic infection.
“It was horrifying,” Emily said. “The doctor took one look and said, ‘You have hookworms.’”
