A relaxing walk on the beach turned into a nightmare for a couple when they began to notice alarming symptoms in their feet — only to have their concerns initially dismissed by medical professionals.

John and Emily Carter, a married couple from Florida, decided to take a sunset stroll along a popular beach last month, unaware of the potential danger lurking beneath the sand.

Hours after returning home, they began to experience intense itching and discomfort in their feet, along with noticeable swelling and redness.

“I thought maybe it was just a minor rash or an allergic reaction,” Emily said. “But when the pain started to get worse, we knew something wasn’t right.”
