Baby boy in critical condition with organ failure after ‘unthinkable medical blunder’

Tim and Gabrielle Groth assumed the circumcision of their newborn son Cole would be a standard practice when they consented to it.

However, when the surgery at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital apparently went horribly wrong and left their infant boy fighting for his life, the New York couple has talked about how devastated they are.

On a GoFundMe website, Tim revealed that Cole had recently won a significant battle against congenital heart disease and was getting ready to be released on April 16.

However, he was circumcised two days earlier on April 14 and “nearly bled to death” during the procedure. According to the Groths, Cole lost so much blood that it severely damaged his kidneys, liver, intestines, and brain, causing seizures and putting him in serious condition.

Days later, the couple learned that their baby would require emergency surgery to remove the dead tissue from his intestines because they had begun to die from lack of blood supply.
