A grieving father in Ohio is at the center of a tragic and escalating situation, after allegedly causing the death of a sheriff’s deputy just one day after his teenage son was fatally wounded during a police encounter.
The events unfolded on Thursday, May 1, when 18-year-old Ryan Hinton died after being shot during an interaction with Cincinnati police.
Authorities say he was fleeing from a reportedly stolen vehicle at the time of the incident.
The next day, on Friday afternoon, Ryan’s father, 38-year-old Rodney Hinton Jr.,
was taken into custody after allegedly striking a sheriff’s deputy with his vehicle in what prosecutors are calling a deliberate act.
The incident occurred near the University of Cincinnati, where the deputy was managing traffic during graduation events.
