and her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. According to parent Carrie Fowler’s blog, Grace in My Mess, she also suffered jaundice and spent seven days in the NICU on a ventilator before being released ten days later.
During her early years, Haidyn experienced numerous health problems. According to Carrie, Haidyn has experienced Achilles tendon contractures, upper respiratory infections, and recurrent ear infections.
She has experienced GI problems, including frequent vomiting and diarrhea, and has required surgery on multiple occasions.
Potty training has also been quite difficult for her. She is “still not potty trained” and probably never will be, according to her mother.
Haidyn received a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder in 2018. According to Haidyn’s mother, her daughter’s neurological system was completely deteriorating at the time of her autism diagnosis. It was getting increasingly difficult to rein in her actions.
Her shoulders and hips were among the other bodily parts that had abnormalities. In 2020, Haidyn’s actual diagnosis of Sanfilippo syndrome was finally given to the family.
