A monumental 12-foot-tall bronze sculpture of a young Black woman has been unveiled in Duffy Square on Broadway, located on the northern side, facing 46th and 47th streets.
The sculpture stands tall and powerful, drawing attention from all who pass by.
It portrays the woman standing confidently, with her hands on her hips, dressed casually in a t-shirt and pants.
Her gaze is directed into the open space around her, capturing a sense of strength and presence.
The artwork is part of a series titled Grounded in the Stars, created by UK-based figurative artist Thomas J. Price.
This series seeks to challenge and dismantle stereotypes about identities, aiming to promote understanding and inclusivity.
